CETI Qualified – Exercise Oncology…..Let’s get out there and HELP others!!!!

First week back after a beautiful Christmas break and I finally got around to taking (and passing) my Cancer Exercise Training Institute (CETI) examination.

I say finally as the CETI programme is a HUGE qualification consisting of many modules and units, covering so many areas which enable practitioners to coach people in health and exercise through their cancer journey. The CETI qualification is a US based, International level qualification which I now add to my UK CanRehab qualification that I achieved last June.

After my own personal cancer journey and what I learned on that journey, I now see it not just as an honour, but also my duty to help as many awesome women as I can on their own unique journey.

It’s not simply about surviving cancer, It’s about THRIVING with cancer.

There are so many positive steps that can be taken to minimise side effects and promote health and well being on the journey that are simply not common knowledge, not even to the medical professionals.

Furthermore, a well constructed and individually tailored exercise regime can reduce cancer recurrence by up to 30% – and we are not talking about training like athletes.

According to Macmillan, cancer now affects 1 in 2 people born in the UK after 1960, and with an ever growing aging population, this statistic is potentially set to worsen – a startling statistic! READ THAT AGAIN!!!!

Only this week I received a beautiful, glowing testimonial from a cancer wellness client Laura Chesterfield, from Guildford who wrote:

“Hi, my name is Laura, 53 years old from Guildford.

I sought support because I felt scared and overwhelmed with my cancer diagnosis and I needed someone who understood this. Since being supported by Women’s Wellness With Cancer I felt heard and that my emotions were validated. What I Love most about Women’s Wellness With Cancer is of course Vanessa. Vanessa is very consistent in her support and honest in her approach. I feel I have someone to relate to and who hears me and she is also on her own cancer journey which makes her more in tune with how I am feeling.

To anyone diagnosed with cancer who wants support, I would say get in touch with Women’s Wellness With Cancer as it will make a real difference to your mental and physical recovery process. It can be a lonely journey but with Vanessa by your side, it’s less so”.

What beautiful words – Thank You Laura.

If you know of anyone struggling with cancer right now who could use a little help and support, please feel free to send them my way.

Love and best wishes for an awesome 2025!.
