Shrinking Lumpy – My Breast Cancer Journey – TDM-1 Treatment 13 of 14!

Nearly there!!!

Friday 26th July saw me attend my TDM-1 cancer treatment round 13 of 14!

Number 13, unlucky for some? Well, let’s just say that this was possibly the most traumatic of my TDM-1 treatments, as initially the nurse was unable to find a working vein on my right arm for the canula to enter.

My left arm can’t ever be used again for any type of injection due to lymph nodes being removed during my breast cancer surgery last October, hence my right arm kind of resembles a pin cushion right now. The nurse repeatedly tried a little too desperately in an old vein that simply wasn’t going to work. On my last wince of pain my husband Marc stepped in and calmly said “Enough”. The insistent nurse wanted to go again, but again Marc repeated himself and was eventually listened to.

The HCA ward sister then came along to try – this lady is next level AWESOME and was infinitely more experienced, finding the vein straight away.

I had my initial flush, followed by the TDM-1…and it was all done.

One more treatment to go on the 16th August and my TDM-1 comes to a close. Obviously I will be very closely monitored for the next 10 years and will still be receiving Tamoxifen for the next 5-10 years, but on the whole I truly couldn’t be happier.

I’m still fit, energetic and have my Love for life and living. Furthermore, I am creating an online programme called “Women’s Wellness With Cancer” which is aimed at providing an holistic coaching framework for women with cancer which brings energy and vitality in to the body whilst undergoing the rigors of treatment.

Harnessing the very best holistic practices alongside conventional medicine.
